Snact Privacy Policy
Introduction
Snact is designed to help you create reminders from screenshots, images, and snaps so you never forget important things. Protecting your privacy is important to us.
This Privacy Policy explains how Snact, operated by Vaaryan Interfaces, collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Snact mobile application and related services.
By using the Snact app, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
Snact is designed to collect only the minimum information required to provide its functionality.
The app may collect or store the following information:
User Content
- Screenshots or images you choose to save as reminders
- Reminder titles, descriptions, and timing
This content is created and controlled entirely by the user.
On-device processing
Features such as reading text from your images (for example to suggest dates or actions) run on your device. That extracted text is used to power Snact features and is not sent to Vaaryan-operated servers as part of normal app use.
Technical and diagnostic data
The public release of Snact does not integrate third-party advertising or analytics SDKs that send your reminder content or browsing inside the app to us. If you choose to share diagnostic data with Apple or Google through your device or store account settings, those platforms may provide limited technical information to developers according to their own policies.
If we add optional analytics, crash reporting, or similar services in a future version, we will update this Privacy Policy and the disclosures in the Apple App Store and Google Play Console so they stay accurate.
Information We Do NOT Collect
Snact does not collect personal identifiers, including:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Exact location
- Contacts
- Personal identity information
2. Permissions Used by the App
Snact requests access only when a feature needs it. You can review or revoke permissions anytime in your device Settings (iOS: Settings → Snact; Android: Settings → Apps → Snact → Permissions). We align disclosures in this policy with the permission strings and store listings shown in the Apple App Store and Google Play Console.
Photos, media, and library
Used to list and import screenshots and images, attach them to snaps and reminders, show thumbnails, and (where you use related features) manage selected photos. On Android this may include read access to images (e.g. READ_MEDIA_IMAGES or legacy storage where applicable). On iOS this corresponds to photo library access (including limited or full access depending on your choice). Add-only or write access may be used only where the OS requires it for optional actions such as saving or cleanup you initiate.
Camera
Used when you choose to capture a new photo for a snap or reminder using the device camera.
Notifications
Used to deliver scheduled reminders, optional digest or cleanup prompts, and (where enabled) alerts when a new screenshot is detected. On Android 13 and above, the app may request POST_NOTIFICATIONS so reminders can appear while the app is in the background.
Alarms, exact timing, and reminders (Android)
On Android 12 and later, reliable scheduled reminders may require the ability to schedule exact alarms (for example where the manifest declares SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM). Some devices also show a system setting such as Alarms and reminders (wording varies by manufacturer). Snact uses this class of capability only so your reminders fire at the times you set, not for unrelated background work. If you deny or revoke this access, reminders may be delayed or less precise depending on OS power-saving behavior.
Calendar
Used only when you choose to add an event to your calendar from suggested dates and times detected in your content (e.g. smart actions). On Android, read/write calendar permissions may be requested so Snact can create or update the event you confirm. Snact does not read your entire calendar history for advertising or profiling.
Biometric authentication (App Lock)
Optional app lock may use Face ID, Touch ID, or Android biometric APIs to unlock the app. Biometric data never leaves your device; the app only receives success or failure from the system secure enclave / keystore.
Network
Internet access is used for normal app operation (for example optional in-app purchases through the store, opening links you tap, or optional in-app feedback you choose to send). Snact does not use network access to sell your personal content to third parties.
Clipboard
When you use a copy action in the app, Snact may write text you selected to the system clipboard so you can paste it elsewhere. Snact is not designed to read your clipboard in the background.
Location
Snact does not use your precise or coarse location as a product feature and does not collect location data for advertising or profiling. If your operating system shows a location-related capability, it is not used by Snact for the core features described in this policy.
Other system access
Your OS may show additional prompts if a dependency requires them; such access is used only for the stated purpose at the time of the prompt. Snact is not designed to track your real-time GPS location as a product feature.
We use these permissions solely to deliver the features described above and to comply with Apple App Store Review Guidelines and Google Play policies (including accurate permission declarations and user control).
3. How We Use Your Information
The information collected or stored by the app is used solely to provide and improve Snact’s features.
This includes:
- Displaying your saved reminders
- Triggering reminder notifications
- Storing images and screenshots attached to reminders
- Improving app stability and performance
If you use optional in-app feedback, we transmit only what you type in the form (such as your message and subject) plus basic technical metadata (for example platform and app version) so we can respond. Do not include passwords, financial details, or other highly sensitive information unless necessary.
Snact does not sell, rent, or share your personal information with advertisers or marketing companies.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your reminder data is primarily stored locally on your device.
Optional features you initiate (such as sending feedback, completing an in-app purchase through Apple or Google, or opening a web link) may involve limited data being processed by those respective services as described in this policy.
We take reasonable measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, misuse, or disclosure.
However, no digital system can guarantee complete security.
5. Data Retention
Your reminder data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app.
If you remove a reminder or uninstall Snact, the associated data will no longer be accessible through the app.
6. Third-Party Services
Snact relies on your device operating system and a small set of integrations. Examples include:
- Apple App Store and Google Play (app distribution, updates, and optional in-app purchases processed according to Apple’s or Google’s terms and privacy notices)
- Local notification scheduling libraries (for example Notifee) that work with iOS and Android system notification services to show reminders you set
- A form delivery provider when you voluntarily submit in-app feedback (so your message can reach our support inbox); that provider processes the content you submit under its own privacy policy
We choose integrations that fit a privacy-conscious design, but third parties process data only as needed for the specific feature and under their own policies.
7. Payments
Snact may offer optional support purchases (for example a one-time "lifetime support" or similar in-app purchase).
All payments are processed securely by Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Snact does not collect or store payment information, including credit card details.
8. User Control
You remain in full control of your data.
You can:
- Delete any reminder or image at any time
- Disable app permissions through your device settings
- Uninstall the app to stop all data processing
9. Advertising, Tracking, and Regional Rights
No cross-app advertising tracking
Snact does not use your reminder content or photos for cross-app advertising tracking. We do not use Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt to track you across other companies’ apps and websites for advertising, and we do not sell your personal information as those terms are commonly understood in consumer privacy laws.
European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland
If you are in these regions, Vaaryan Interfaces Private Limited is the controller for personal data described in this policy (for example voluntary feedback you send). Where required by law, we rely on lawful bases such as performing our contract with you (providing the app), your consent (where we ask for it), or legitimate interests in operating and securing Snact, balanced against your rights. You may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Contact us using the details below to exercise applicable rights.
United States (California and similar states)
Depending on your state of residence, you may have rights regarding personal information under applicable law (for example rights to know, delete, or opt out of certain sales or sharing). Snact does not sell personal information for money. Because most Snact data stays on your device, many requests may be fulfilled by your own deletion of content or uninstalling the app. For feedback or other data you have sent to us, contact us below.
10. Children’s Privacy
Snact is not intended for children under the age of 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove the information.
If you are below the age of digital consent where you live, please use Snact only with a parent or guardian’s involvement, as required by local rules and store policies.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect improvements or legal requirements.
Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated Last Updated date.
We encourage users to review this policy periodically.
